What a month! So much has happened since we last reached out to you, our dear prayer supporters! We had follow-ups with Andrew from his surgery, an appendectomy, and a wonderful trip to Spokane. Instead of going into detail on all of those things, we updated the blog if you'd like to read more!
If you didn't already know, you may be surprised to hear that Matt and Jacob (our oldest son) are headed to Malawi right now! No, they are not moving ahead of the rest of the family - they are going to serve as part of the Short Term Team our church is sending to partner with CAPA and IBF church for the next two weeks. We would LOVE your prayers both for the "home" team and the "away" team, as we call them in our family.
Prayer requests for the Away Team (Matt, Jacob, and the rest of the Malawi STT):
Please pray for our teaching pastor, John Koh, as he teaches at CAPA this week and next week
Please pray for the six who are traveling right now to Malawi - for travel mercies and final preparations and opportunities for the gospel
Pray for Matt as he finalizes his messages for many teaching opportunities at Family Camp, CAPA, and potentially others as well.
Pray for Jacob -- this is his FIRST big trip! Please pray with us that God would impact His heart in big ways and that Jacob would have a servant's heart.
I will send more detailed prayer requests in a day or two so you can pray through the schedule with us, if you like!
Prayer Requests for the Home Team:
Please pray for me (Brianne) to walk closely with the Lord so that I might show kindness, patience, and grace to the four kiddos at home with me!
Please pray for sleep -- it's one of the things that has been traditionally hard for us when Daddy is gone.
Please pray for Andrew's follow-up surgery next Thursday - it should be a short out-patient procedure with very little recovery time.
Please pray that the Lord is honored in our home as we focus on the death and resurrection of our Lord this Easter season!
Matt and Jacob onboard their flight from LAX to Ethiopia on the way to Malawi
Jacob with his new journal on the flight. We hope to share some of his thoughts with you when he returns!
Andrew took this picture before Matt and Jacob left for the airport - he's definitely sad to have his dad and best friend gone. He would love for you to pray for him!
We celebrated a bit early...Jacob will turn 10 while he is in Malawi!
