It is very encouraging to have the support of many people standing with us in prayer and also, Lord willing, financially. We know that God will provide the funds we need to support the work that He has called us to. And it is a joy to watch HOW He is already beginning to do that through you, our friends and family. A number of you have asked how you can support us...we are humbled by this and yet happy to let you know how you can be involved. That being said, we know that not everyone is in a place to support us right now, but if it would be a joy for you to do so, this email has all of the information that you will need.
There are three different types of support that we need for our ministry in Malawi. You can find a description of each of them below...and underneath that is all of the information needed to send a financial contribution. As a side note, all contributions are tax deductible, which is a definite plus! Also, 100% of your donation goes directly to us (our sending agency does not take a percentage).
Though we are not leaving for Malawi until next summer, we need to begin raising our support now. One the one hand, there are upfront expenses that we will be incurring as we prepare to leave. Also, our sending agency wisely requires us to have three months of support in our account before we go. That way, if we have any drops in support or unexpected expenses, we will not be forced to come back to the states to raise support.
So here are three ways you can support us:
We are looking for families and individuals who would be willing to commit to supporting us on a monthly basis as we serve in Malawi. All the information you need to give via check, credit card, or direct deposit can be found below. Monthly supporters, along with partner churches, are the most important aspect of our financial support.
Partner Churches We are looking for like-minded churches that would be interested in partnering with us financially. We would love to come share about Malawi with your church! If you think your church might be interested in hearing more and potentially supporting us, please email Matt (firstname.lastname@example.org).
One Time Gifts There are a number of initial expenses associated with moving a family of 7 to Africa. We will need to ship a container to Malawi with all of our possessions then buy a car, set up a home, and get situated once we arrive in conuntry. One time gifts help with these costs, as well as the unexpected costs of living in Africa!
So if you are interested in supporting us either monthly or through a one time gift, there are three ways you can do that:
Make a one-time or recurring credit card donation by going to www.gracechurch.org/kopp and filling out the form at the top of the page.
To set up a monthly direct deposit, click on this link, print the form, and follow its instructions (Use missionary project "Kopp Family – Malawi").
To give by check, send a check payable to "GMI" with "Kopp Family – Malawi" on the memo line to 13248 Roscoe Blvd. Sun Valley, CA 91352.
And again, if your church would be interested in hearing more about the ministry in Malawi, we would love to come visit you and share with your church!
Thanks again for taking the time to consider supporting us financially...we know that this is ultimately God's grace at work in each of your lives in this way for His glory. And for that we give Him thanks!
If you have any questions about giving, please let us know...we'd love to hear from you.
We love you all and are so glad to have you join with us on this journey of faith,
Thank you for your prayers and support in our journey to Malawi!
It is that time of year again...you can buy "Pumpkin Spice" anything, the leaves in Southern California have turned more brown than usual, and hockey has started again! This can only mean one thing...Thanksgiving is drawing near. But it seems that thanksgiving has come early to our household. We have some much to be thankful for and we're excited to share it with you all.
First and foremost, we are so thankful for Jesus Christ! Yesterday, our church celebrated Orphan Sunday (highlighting the plight of orphans across the globe) and it was a great reminder of how God has adopted us into His family. We are thankful that Jesus Christ left the glories of heaven to come to earth to save sinners like us! And now we not only have the privilege of calling God our Father, but we have been granted His grace to get to go to Malawi and tell others about our great God and Savior!
As if our salvation alone wasn't enough, God has poured out abundant blessing in the last few weeks. And since you have been praying for these things it is a joy to share how God has answered.
On the family front, we received a court date for the re-adoption of our girls! The date is set for Wednesday, November 25th at 1:30 PM. We praise God for this next key step in the process of getting their California birth certificates and US Passports. Thanks for praying so diligently. Please continue to pray that the rest of the paperwork process would go fast (which it typically does not, so we are excited to see how God will work through this).
Also, we have officially sold our house! We are grateful for the Lord's provision and kindness throughout the process. We handed over the keys last week and have moved into a rental house where we will stay until we leave for Malawi. We have been extremely blessed in the moving process by a number of folks. People from our Bible study along with some other ladies from our church came and packed most of our house for us while we were out of town. And my (Matt's) parents came down from Spokane, WA and have spent their vacation time helping us get moved in and organized.
On the ministry front, we now have our own page on the GMI website: https://www.gracechurch.org/kopp
This is very exciting as it gives us a means to begin our support raising. We will be sending out another email in the days ahead with specific details on financial support, but feel free to check out the link anytime. We are thankful for the folks at GMI that do all kinds of work behind the scenes (like setting up webpages!) to support missions.
Also, the Lord has encouraged our hearts through the overwhelming generosity of family and close friends. Even before our webpage was up and in the days following we have received multiple, generous donations to the Lord's work in Malawi. It is humbling to see God provide through those we love...and those who love us. And it is very encouraging to feel the support of our family and friends in this unique way. We thank God for His grace expressed through the lives of others!
We have so much to be thankful for and are glad to get to share it with you all...we hope you can join in our rejoicing. Thank you for all of your ongoing prayers and support. We have included some specific prayer requests in the box below. And as always, we would love to hear from you if there are ways that we can be praying.
We love you all and thank God for you!
Matt, Brianne, and the kids.
Join with us in praising the Lord for:
A court date for our girls' re-adoption.
The completion of the sale of our house.
Friends and family who have helped us with the move.
A wonderful church family, committed to the Great Comission, that loves and supports its missionaries.
God's provision of a wonderful partnership with a sending agency: GMI.
We would love your prayers in the following ways:
That God would cause the process of getting our girls' CA birth certificates to go very quickly after our Nov. 25th court date.
That we would walk closely with the Lord, finding our joy in Him each day.
That God would be preparing our hearts, our bodies, and our family for this big move.
That God would be glorified in the ministries at Faith Bible Church that that we have the privilege of being involved in.
For gospel opportunities through our family's involvement with soccer this fall.
For prayer and financial support partners to join us.
Thank you for your prayers! We look forward to rejoicing with you as God answers them.
For His glory in California and Malawi,
Matt and Brianne
